As a typical Enneagram Type 4, Jozlin Pettit struggles to accept this label and prefers to be called a mother, wife, writer, hypnotist, singer, self-taught musician, and lover of musical theater. She wrote "Wade into Grace" after years of therapy, procrastination, coping with her own trauma, and some serious imposter syndrome. Jozlin has worked as in technology from desktop support all the way to being the Director of Communications and Technology. She left the security of a technology career to seek her purpose. She ended up working at a treatment center for people with addiction and mental health disorders, serving in various positions and teaching groups. Jozlin began leading group hypnosis sessions designed to support recovery goals. It was in hypnosis, teaching groups, and supporting people’s recovery goals that she found her purpose. When asked, Jozlin will say her purpose in life is to help others heal the way they relate to themselves, others, and their higher power (whatever that means to each person) so that they can become and love their most authentic, true selves. The goal is to be able to be present in the moment without things like the past, fears, or anxieties while having faith that you are enough to handle what you are doing. In March of 2023, Jozlin left her job at the treatment center and started Hypno Nerd, which later became Pineywoods Hypnosis after a move to East Texas. Jozlin works privately with clients in person and online. She is working to develop hypnosis programs that are affordable, easily accessed by phone, and help to support individual healing and growth. She is currently working to develop a program based on her own healing journey and her book. This journey is designed to help people sleep, handle stress better, learn how to find growth in conflict, build self compassion, grow self esteem, and, ultimately, learn to LOVE who they see in the mirror.

When Jozlin isn’t working with clients, being interviewed on podcasts, teaching group sessions, running a business, or working on her next book, she can be found with her wife out on an adventure, spending time with her kids and grandkids, curled up with a good book and some tea, out on the water, or camping with her friends.
