Learn more about Phoenix Reiki

Phoenix Reiki is not a special kind of Reiki. It is Reiki with an intention. Now, more than ever, we are all in need of renewal and regrowth. Our goal is to aid and support journeys of rebirth. Read more below about Reiki and how you can start or continue on your path of transformation.

The best explanation of Reiki I have ever heard came from a Reiki Master named Betty. I cannot improve on it so the following comes from her. Thank you, Betty.

Reiki is energy, specifically, the energy of love and light. Reiki is pure and cannot be used in negative or evil ways. Some people, like Betty and myself, have been tuned to pick up on Reiki energy. This works a lot like a radio having to tune into a certain frequency to pick up a radio station. A person who is attuned to Reiki can act as a Reiki antenna, picking up Reiki and transmitting it to a person. This transmission can only be done with the permission of the person receiving Reiki and it can only be done for the good of the person, never harm.

In addition to Reiki, I am an intuitive energy worker. This means that sometimes I get impressions or messages to share with you. If this is not something you are interested in, let me know. I will honor your wishes for our sessions. Energy work is a lot like Reiki, but, unlike Reiki, includes sensing and reading energies as well as influencing energies. No matter what, only positive, loving energy is ever part of our sessions.

What is Reiki?

The way a Reiki Practioner manages a Reiki session can vary from person to person. Reiki sessions can be done in person or over a distance so a lot depends on what kind of session you have signed up for. Below you will see descriptions of how sessions typically run.

What happens during a
Reiki session?

In-Person Sessions

This session will start by talking about any particular needs, concerns, or questions you may have. From there, I step out of the room to give you privacy as you get on the table. (No clothes will be removed during sessions) This also gives me a chance to tune in and get ready for your session. When I come back into the room, I begin the session. Reiki does not require me to touch clients. As a personal preference, I do not touch or talk during sessions, most of the time. If I feel like I need to share something with you or if I feel like touch is needed for your specific need, I will ask permission before I share or touch. At the end of the session, we will discuss anything I didn’t share while I was working and we will work on the add-ons for your session.

Distance Sessions

These sessions work similarly to in-person sessions, but with a few changes. Distance Sessions are done over the phone. I suggest all clients use a pair of headphones connected to their phone so they do not have to hold their phone or put it on speaker. I prefer over the phone as it allows me to focus on the Reiki and not worry about either of our faces on a computer screen. When it is time for our session, I will call you. You will need to be in a quiet, private place. It is more important for you to be in a quiet, private place than it is for you to be able to lay down. After we discuss your needs, concerns, and/or questions, we both will take a few moments to quiet ourselves and then I will begin the session. If I feel like there is something that I might need to share during the session, I will ask permission, otherwise, I will be quiet. At the end of your session, we will discuss anything I didn’t share while I was working. This will be the time we work on any add-ons that are part of your session.

Will I feel anything during my session?

This is a very good question that is not easily answered. The simple answer is that you might. Some people feel a tingling feeling, some feel a pulse running through their bodies, and some people just feel relaxed. There are times people have an emotional release during a Reiki session and they begin crying without knowing where the tears are coming from. There are even people who have a spiritual experience during their session. Others end up getting a nap during their sessions. The important thing to keep in mind is that there is no “right” way to experience a Reiki session. It is important to manage your expectations and remain open during each session. Every session we do together may give you a different experience. Neither your nor I can curate a certain experience for you, all we can do is let Reiki do the work.

How long do sessions last?

Sessions are either 30 min or 60 min depending on what you book.
